Description

This wonderful pink champagne is pale salmon in colour, with precise, crisp aromas of strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and black cherries. It has fine bubbles with persistent mousse, and prominent flavours of soft red berry fruit, with a well defined wild cherry aspect. Long, rounded and supple on the finish, this makes an excellent aperitif, or goes well with poultry, charcuterie or with Asian cuisine.

The Laurent-Perrier Rose champagne is famous for its highly expressive bouquet, which stems from the very careful preservation of the grape’s natural fresh red fruit aromas. It is one of the few rosé champagnes to be made using the maceration (skin contact) technique, which gives it the extraordinary depth and freshness. Revered by wine-lovers for its flavours and by aesthetes for the beauty of its 17th century-style bottle, the Cuvée Rosé Brut is one of the stars in the Laurent-Perrier champagne range.

Meticulous selection of the grape and controlled maceration help extract the colour and aromatic richness of the pinot noir grapes. Unlike most rosé champagnes, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Rosé Brut is obtained by drawing the juice from black grapes in the vat, not solely blending red and white wines. It is cellared for at least four years.

Tasting notes:

Elegant, with colour changing naturally from a pretty raspberry hint to salmon-pink.

Aroma

Precise and very crisp. Wide range of small red fruits: strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and black cherries. Its amazing freshness is the dominating note.

Taste

Intensely fruity flavours, clean, well-defined and slightly sharp, the wine then opens up to provide an impression of plunging into a basket of freshly picked red berries: strawberries, Morello cherries, blackcurrants and raspberries. The wine is supple and rounded on the finish.

Serve at around 8°C and 10°C.

wine making and ageing

Laurent-Perrier’s technical facilities are dedicated to the making of the Cuvée Rosé. Grapes from carefully selected plots are then meticulously sorted and destemmed before going into the vats. Controlled maceration – lasting from 48h to 72h depending on the harvest – helps the extraction of colour and the development of the full aromatic richness of the Pinot Noir. It is aged in the cellars for at least four years.
